The Bright Minds Bright Futures Campaign marks the largest fundraising initiative in the history of Truman State University.
Throughout my career, I have had the good fortune to be associated with the work of many fine organizations. When Truman State University offered me this special opportunity, I considered the magnitude of this role, the importance of a successful outcome, and said yes. I am serving Truman because of my strong belief in its future, in appreciation for the quality educational preparation I received, and based on my desire to invest back into a university that has given so much to me. As I consider the future of Truman State University, two themes come to the forefront. First, we must ensure that future generations of students have the best possible educational experience to equip them for the challenges of our new global world. Next, amid the uncertainties of state funding, private giving is the most effective way to provide the best students, faculty, facilities and programs to allow Truman to achieve its full potential. "Bright Minds Bright Futures" is a five-year campaign which began in July of 2006 and will continue through June of 2011. The $30 million campaign is designed to raise financial support for scholarships, student enrichment activities, faculty development, athletics and mission enhancement activities. For Truman to become the premier public liberal arts and sciences university in the nation, University constituents ― alumni, friends, parents, corporations and foundations ― must join together and invest in this program at all donor levels. The University has developed a compelling and transformative vision for the future. This vision will meet and exceed the challenges of the years ahead while keeping Truman firmly rooted in its mission and commitment to students. The "Bright Minds Bright Futures" campaign is ambitious -- one that will require all Truman constituents to step up boldly and provide financial support proportional to our ability. Let's build a stronger Truman together.
